REGISTRATION FOR THE
2008 SEASON
Frequently Asked Questions
Online Registration –
ELL Now offers ONLINE registration for
new and returning players.
Online registration will be available 24/7 until registration closes for 12 and
under on February 4th and for all ages on March 4th. We
are encouraging ALL players to register ONLINE.
Why use online
registration?
Parents can register from the comfort of
their home or office and pay by credit card. Confirmation is immediate and sent
by email. The league gets player information accurately entered into our
database with no volunteer hours required (you can imagine the hours required to
read and accurately enter 600+ applications into our database). With accurate
information and email addresses for all parents in the league our communication
process is greatly improved. ELL will be able to notify all parents of their
children's tryout dates, team placements, key dates, and occasional news about
the league.
What does it cost?
The online service charges a nominal fee
(less than CA state tax) to cover credit card transaction fees and for the
operation of their website. This fee is added to the ELL registration fee.
Does it work?
Yes. ELL used online registration for
Fall Ball with over 70% of the players registered online. The league was able to
receive payment in a timely manner and update our registered player counts daily
(which is a big help in planning for the season).
What If I don't have an
email address or don't want to use an online system to register. Can I still
register in person?
Yes. ELL will have in-person registration on January 6, 13, and 20 for all ages
and again on February 17 and March 3rd for only 13 to 18 yr olds.
Volunteer Managers are usually in short supply and we typically have to form
teams without Managers at every level and hope to find a volunteer to manage
before the season starts. For 2006 in the non-drafting divisions we will assign
the LAST PLAYERS TO REGISTER to the teams without managers. Register early.
How do I prove my age and
residency within ELL's boundaries if I register ONLINE?
Good question.
All NEW players
MUST bring proof of age (original birth certificate or passport) and proof of
residency (driver's license, utility bill, vehicle registration preferred) to
one of our in-person registration dates. We will have a separate line for
this so the wait will be very short.
Returning players DO NOT need to do this
What happens if I
register online and later find out that I am not eligible or able to play?
Players must first check their address to be sure you are within our boundaries
BEFORE they register (check
map Here). We will refund your ELL fee's
but NOT the transaction fees if you do not live within our boundary. Players who
decide to quit will receive refunds on the following basis:
Quit prior to
January 15th will receive a 100% refund of ELL's fees
Quit after February 4th refund will be 80% of ELL's fees.
Quit after March 20th refund will be 50% of ELL's fees.
Online transaction fees are non-refundable.
If the league cannot
place your child on a team, you will receive a 100% refund.
